Later that day, a van was pulled on the A34 near Weston on the green as the rear of the vehicle was dirty with an expletive written on the doors in the dirt.
Officers then conducted a roadside drug wipe with the driver providing a positive test for cannabis and cocaine.
The pair were both arrested and taken to the police station for a blood procedure.
Officers can test for cannabis and cocaine at the roadside, and screen for other drugs including ecstasy, LSD, ketamine and heroin at a police station.
