A global war – from Greece to Africa to Japan.
During EA Play 2019, DICE showed off new Battlefield V multiplayer maps, updates and more.
The first new map, Marita, is set in Greece, showing off the tight streets of a rural town. Marita is an infinity-focused map, where hills and homes allow for steep, vertical gameplay. This is coming in July as part of Chapter 4.
DICE also showed off the new Al Sundan map in Northern Africa, which is focused on land and air vehicle combat. It’s a large sandbox area that includes an airfield, bunkers, and more. It’s described as “classic Battlefield,” where players will fight over possession of critical points. Coming June 27, day one for Chapter 4.
Later in August, other maps will be introduced and are designed to be intense and tighter for close-quarter encounters – something Battlefield fans have been craving.
Operation Underground is another new map that was shown off by EA, which takes place in underground subways, a bank, big court yards, streets and more. It’s coming in October, between Chapter 4 and Chapter 5.
Core gameplay updates coming to Battlefield V include the max rank going from 50 to 500. Coins will be given for each level up beyond 50, and every 50 ranks will provide new dogtags and more. This update is coming in August.
DICE also discussed Chapter 5, which takes place in the Pacific theater of war. As the US and Japan clash, they’ll fight in iconic locations like Iwo Jima. Fans have been anticipating the Pacific theater of WWII for Battlefield V, and Chapter 5 will include three maps from the Pacific.
For everything else from the EA Play E3 2019 livestream, here’s its schedule times, how to watch and what to expect. During today’s EA play, the publisher showed off 15 minutes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay, and revealed the newest Apex Legend character, Wattson.
