ExFL? Connor Cook goes number two overall in skill player XFL draft, three former Raiders go in first round – Silver And Black Pride

I know you all have been eagerly anticipating today’s XFL draft. Well, your long wait is over. It’s happening today. So far there’s a strong presence of former Raiders players including the top two picks and three in the first round alone.

The number one overall pick by the DC Defenders in the XFL draft was Rashard Davis who had two stints on the Raiders’ practice squad last season and signed a reserve/future contract in January before being cut in April.

Second overall to the Houston Roughnecks was Connor Cook who was a fourth round pick (100 overall) by the Raiders in the 2016 draft. He would appear in one regular season game, replacing the injured Matt McGloin who was replacing the injured Derek Carr. Cook then made his one and and only start in the Raiders’ wildcard playoff game against the Texans.

With the 8th and final pick in the first round of the XFL draft, Los Angeles Wildcats selected former Raiders 7th round pick Elijah Hood. The former Tarheel spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, appearing in one game.

We’ll see if the XFL can outdo the eight games the AAF lasted. The AAF seemed to have its shit together too. That was until its chief investor decided not to hang in there through the early losses. The XFL has already tried and failed at this.
