Howes Percival has bought Maier Blackburn, which was founded in 2012.
The company specialises in intellectual property, media law, litigation and dispute resolution, predominantly catering to clients in publishing, media, and entertainment fields.
Partners Cathleen Blackburn and Steven Maier have joined Howes Percival and will operate out of the now-merged firm’s Oxford office.
This expansion not only marks Howes Percival’s debut in the Oxford market but grants access to a full range of legal services to support existing clients.
Steven Maier said: “We are delighted to be able to announce the tie-up of our firm with Howes Percival, which provides exactly the relationship we need to take our practice to the next level.”
He expressed excitement over the enhanced services they can now offer, including corporate, employment, and private client work.
Howes Percival chairman Geraint Davies said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome the Maier Blackburn team to Howes Percival.
“Oxford presents an exciting new opportunity for us.
“We will be looking to build a team that can specifically serve the needs of the city and the wider area.”
This acquisition marks a period of sustained growth for Howes Percival, having recently opened offices in Cambridge, Manchester and Milton Keynes, with a 33 per cent turnover increase in the past three years.
