National Highways has announced that the road has reopened at J8A near Oxford and traffic is now flowing freely.

The organisation confirmed that central reservation barrier repairs have been completed.
The serious crash saw a lorry hit a motorway bridge, which caused to M40 to be closed in both directions in Oxfordshire.

The crash occurred close to the Welcome Break Oxford Services shortly before 1pm on Tuesday, April 30.
Thames Valley Police raced to the scene and closed the road in both directions between Junction 9 near Bicester and Junction 8A near Oxford.
