The members of Oxford-based MyVision visited City of Oxford College and University Centre on April 17.
Welcomed by public services students, they were guided to the hair and beauty salon, where they enjoyed a morning of pampering and relaxation.
The wellness day, split into two sessions, allowed guests to choose from two beauty treatments, followed by an afternoon tea prepared and served by the collegeās hospitality and professional cookery students.
Andy Smith, service delivery manager at MyVision, said: āWe all really enjoyed our day of pampering.
āThe students showed so much confidence and professionalism in delivering the treatments and serving up the delicious food.
āToday was a great opportunity for our charity and the college to work together and enable the students to work with people with visual impairments.
āThis is something that will happen in the real world so is great practice for them, and weāre really excited about working with the college more in the future.ā
Zahra Haleem, a womenās hairdressing level two diploma student at the college, said: āI really enjoyed the day, it was great to work with some new clients and they were all really friendly.
āI did some haircuts, shampoo and blow-dry and conditioning treatments.
āIt was also a great opportunity to work with a local charity.ā
