The incident occurred at around 10.16pm on Friday night when a member of the public was involved in the collision on Chapel Street, off Cowley Road.
A black Audi A1 was involved and the pedestrian, who was a 39-year-old man, sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.

Over 10 police officers attended the incident whilst an ambulance and paramedics could also be seen close to the site outside the O2 Academy on Cowley Road.
The busy street was brought to a standstill as treatment was administered to the man before he was taken away to hospital.
Thames Valley Police is now appealing for witnesses following the road traffic collision and confirmed that the independent Office for Police Conduct has been contacted.
A spokesperson for the force said: “As a result of the incident, a mandatory referral has been made by Thames Valley Police to the IOPC.”
