Tiger Woods misses cut by one stroke at PGA Championship – SNY.tv

Tiger Woods couldn’t solve Bethpage Black.

Five weeks after winning the Masters for his 15th career major and first in 11 years, Woods missed the cut at the PGA Championship. He shot 3-over 73 Friday in the second round to finish at 5-over, missing the cut by one stroke.

Woods had six bogeys and three birdies on Friday, four of those bogeys coming on the back nine. He managed par on his final four holes, but it wasn’t enough to get him above the cut line.

“I’ve enjoyed being the Masters Champion again, and the PGA was a quick turnaround, and unfortunately I just didn’t — I just didn’t play well,” Woods said. “I didn’t do all the little things I need to do correctly to post good scores and put myself in position to shoot good scores.”

He struggled off the tee all afternoon, hitting just three of 14 fairways, and he had nine greens in regulation.

It was a disappointing two days for Woods, who hadn’t played competitively since his Masters victory. He couldn’t come close to matching the exploits of one of the men in his group, Brooks Koepka.

All Koepka did was break the 36-hole major record by finishing 12-under through the second round after shooting 5-under 65 on Friday.
