The last time James Harden and Russell Westbrook were on the same NBA team they were playing for the Thunder in the Finals in 2102. A disgruntled Harden left for the Rockets that offseason and now the league’s two highest scorers over the past five seasons will be in a lineup together again after Houston traded Chris Paul and a package of picks to Oklahoma City for Westbrook.

Harden, who was at a sneaker event on Friday, doesn’t appear worried about any chemistry issues between the two and having to share the ball.

“When I left OKC, I was sad. Then Houston made a home for me,” Harden said, according to ESPN. “Rockets is my home. And now an opportunity came available where Russ wasn’t happy. Now we’re back. It’s going to be a lot of fun this year, I guarantee you that. Believe it.”

His first comments regarding the trade, which has not been officially announced, came on the same day Westbrook posted a thank you to Oklahoma City on Instagram account. He praised Thunder owner Clay Bennett, general manager Sam Presti and the city’s community for their support during his 11 seasons there.

“You are all what makes Oklahoma such a beautiful place, and the reason I’ve loved playing here all of this time,” Westbrook wrote. “You have supported me through all of the ups and the downs, and stood by me through the good times, and tough times. For that I am eternally grateful to you.”

The Thunder took the time to thank Westbrook on their Twitter account.
